to learn English, make new friends

and find out about living in Hull. 

with the help of volunteer befrienders.

To learn a language, you need to live it!

English Classes

Our classrooms are at Marvell House, Cranbourne Street, Hull HU3 1PP

But at the moment, our classes and befriending sessions are online.  Since March 2020 we have held almost 1,000, which have been attended by over 300 students.

Recieve up to date posters about coronavirus in easy English.  We share them on Facebook and on our What's App Broadcast, which reaches over 500 students. Talk about it on our What's App Group, with a befriender or in a class.


Learn English with a befriender

(by Zoom, What's App, phone or email). We currently have over 30 active befrienderrs.

Practise English whilst exploring Hull

and joining in community projects


Walk and Talk on our nature walks in Hull, with Andrew from

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust


Join in our short courses in English for Driving, English for Working in a Warehouse, Basic Literacy, Craft and Sewing,  Gardening, English for Computers and Guitar.  Borrow books from our small lending library.  Celebrate special occasions, such as Eid or Chinese New Year.
